Beautiful Rare French Antique Cruche, Stoneware jug or pitcher from Provence, Green Glaze
This stunning stoneware water or wine jug has a lovely pale green-colored glaze fading into the natural stoneware base. It has a lovely hand thrown body and hand-formed handles. This is a special example of the traditional Southern French stoneware. This type of vessel would have been used as a water or wine vessel for the long hot sunny days in the vineyards and fields of Provence.
This would make a lovely vase, decorative piece.
It is in beautiful condition, it has some minor chips and nibbles throughout giving it a lovely rustic appearance, see photos for details. The interior is very clean.
