Sarreguemines "Jardiniere" Blue Transferware Ironstone Tureen, Small French Antique Soup Tureen
Beautiful and Rare small-sized dusty blue floral transferware tureen from the maker Sarreguemines. The beautiful transfer mark at the base indicates the name of the service "Jardiniere" and dates it to the latter part of the 19th century. The Jardiniere service is an exceptionally beautiful production with a very ornate French blue floral transfer featuring various flowers, foliage, and lattice, evoking the abundant French garden. This is the small-size soup tureen of this magnificent service with gorgeous sculpted handles and its original lid with a beautiful bud-shaped knob. It is a rare find in such beautiful condition. It would make a lovely centerpiece display, still life, decorative piece just about anywhere in the house.
This piece is in exceptional antique condition. It has only very subtle signs of use, but happily NO chips, cracks, hairs or discoloration. It is like new. See photos for details.
