Classic Large French Antique White Oval Ironstone Serving Platter, Plat de Gigot
Perfect for serving that beautiful roast, this elegant traditional french piece is a must-have for any well-dressed shabby chic, french country, or farmhouse table. Know as a "Plat de Gigot" this style of plate is traditionally used to serve a leg of lamb or "Gigot d'Angeau". Dress it up or dress it down this will be your go-to serving dish for all your lovely roasts. I know I can't live without mine. This one has a lovely rustic heavy bottom quality with a beautiful traditional trademark juice collection indentations in a beautiful sunburst pattern. An ingenious design to collect all those lovely juices as you carve, and intern makes for a stunning display piece.
This piece is in beautiful antique condition with no cracks, hairs, or discoloration, just one shallow chip on the inner base of the foot and some typical faint surface wear and glaze imperfections. Imperfections such as this are common in plates of this age and style. Please see photos for details.
